If you’ve attended an UnConference before, then you know that challenges of having so many great sessions available and only being able to be in once place at a time. That’s why Twitter comes in so handy. Many of the attendees will be tweeting about the sessions they’re in and tagging them with the hash tag #pclo10. You can follow PodCamp conversations from around the building and even learn something if you can’t be there in person.

Another challenge at conferences of all sizes is finding what sessions your friends and people you want to meet are attending. Enter Foursquare. At PodCamp London you’ll be able to check in to the various rooms and see who is sitting in the same session with you. If you’ve never used Foursquare before you’re going to want to sign up before Saturday.

The team at rtraction has built an amazing application that will bring together these two services in one awesome visual display that only gets better the more people use it. I don’t want to give away all the details, but the icon to the right is a clue about what you should expect to see! We’re confident that your going to be impressed.

When you’re in the lobby at PodCamp you’ll be able to watch as people interact, converse and learn, around the Convergence Centre through the power of digital media and mobile devices. Be sure to stop and chat with the team at rtraction for a full demonstration of how they made all this possible.

Another note of thanks to rtraction for the time that they’ve graciously donated that’s allowed the organizing team to pull together PodCamp London.

As always, PodCamp could never have been possible without the support of our community sponsor; TechAlliance!

Two month’s before PodCamp London 2010 (May 8th, 2010) and 185 people have already registered and a large amount of chatter surrounding the Forest City’s UnConference is taking place. Here at PodCamp Headquarters we wanted to let you know what generally happens at an unconference and how you can make the most out of your day.

What Happens?

PodCamp presents an opportunity to let attendees like yourself make presentations on anything that they think other attendees would enjoy learning about, hearing about, or that they would find value in. Talks can be about anything that participants want to share with some common themes typically being (but not limited to): podcasting, blogging, social media, networking tips or community building.

During the day there are coffee breaks, time for lunch/dinner and a social after sessions have come to an end, all of which present fantastic opportunities to socialize, network, continue conversations and pick the brains of one another.

Offer a Session

Would you like to present something to PodCamp participants, something that you think has value and others would benefit from? If so sign yourself up on the PodCamp Wiki with the details about your session, then on May 8th, 2010 you can take 15-30 minutes to present on your topic to a group of attendees who want to know more about what you have to say.

Request a Session

Is there something that you want to learn more about? If so you can request a session that you would like to see using the PodCamp Wiki. Other participants may choose to present on the topic you requested and chances are there will be other attendees that want to learn more about it as well. Although not all sessions requested may be presented, the PodCamp community does it’s best to help offer sessions that participants will benefit from.

Sponsorship Opportunities

PodCamp is a FREE event and is organized by a team of volunteers who rely on the generous support of businesses and individuals who know the value and opportunities that are associated with PodCamp London. In sponsoring PodCamp London 2010 businesses, individuals and brands are exposed to the head of the pack in marketing, PR, and thought leaders in traditional and new media. Sponsoring PodCamp London is a great opportunity to expose your company to leaders from across North America.

If you think becoming a sponsor of PodCamp London is something you and/or your company would like to do please do not hesitate to head over to our Sponsorship page for more details or contact us directly.

In the weeks leading up to PodCamp London (May 8th, 2010) there will be important information being posted here so keep an eye out. As well, Community Notebook has been created for the participants of PodCamp to share their ideas, thoughts, questions, comments and anything else they see fit. Head on over to pclo.tumblr.com to start contributing.
